Title

TEACHER VALUES AND TEACHER SELF-EFFICACY OF WEST GARO HILLS DISTRICT HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Abstract

The teaching learning process in educational institutions runs practically with the great contributions of the frontrunners in the classrooms who are the teachers. Teachers are one of the important components in the school system. The teachers have different set beliefs, values and characteristics which they display in the personal relationship as well as in their professional life. Two of the important components as make up in the teachers are their values and self-efficacy. The present study analyse the teacher values and teacher self-efficacy of higher secondary school teachers. The tools used in the study are the Teacher Value Inventory (TVI) and the Teacher Self-Efficacy scale. The Pearson ‘r’ and t-test are used for analyzing the data. The result of the study reported significant relationship between Hope and Happiness of Female post graduate students. It also reported differences in gender on Hope but not on Happiness. The study adds to an already existing knowledge of research in the similar field.
