Title

Secure OTP generation in android using elliptical curve cryptography

Abstract

This Now a day’s mobile technology has been growing rapidly. Using of smart phones has increased for critical financial applications. This has leading to many security issues as well. Few security issues are sim cloning and OTP being accessed by hackers, which leads to access to all major banks and other websites. As of now we have limited encryption techniques such as RSA which have proved to be inefficient as they have larger key size and require greater space. These are a few security threats which are becoming serious issues for the people today. In this proposed system we are using Elliptical Curve Cryptography(ECC) which tends to use very small key size and is very difficult to crack. Using ECC we are gone transfer OTP from server to android application in form of QR code. Encrypted key and IMEI number of mobile phone would be then send on the server which would be verified and only then user would be granted access. We have also added login system in application, so only valid users can access it. We have divided projects in different modules i.e. implementation of OTP server, developing android application, adding login system and other securities on the application as well. This will result in improvised security for our banking system
