Title

Embedding sustainability into procurement practice through e-Procurement.

Abstract

The term sustainable development is gaining momentum in all elements of life be it on personal matters or on business matters. This being the current scenario, the organizations are keen on finding out ways and means to bring sustainable development in whatever field they are into. For every organization procurement process is one of the major and critical business activity consumes considerable resources. When principles of sustainability is implanted into our procurement practices we can consider it as sustainable procurement. Effective sustainable procurement supports sustainable development. This paper highlight the role of e Procurement as a driving agent for sustainable procurement. Additionally how the challenges of sustainable procurement are addressed through e Procurement process
