Title

SOLAR BASED FENCING AND ANIMAL DETECTION SYSTEM FOR AGRICULTURAL FIELDS

Abstract

Due to over population there occurs deforestation which results in shortage of food, water and shelter in forest areas. So, animals interference in residential areas is increasing day by day which affects human life and property causing human-animal conflict but as per nature’s rule every living creature on this earth has important role in eco-system. Agriculture is the backbone of the economy but because of animal interference in agricultural lands, there will be huge loss of crops. Elephants, monkeys and other animals coming in to contact with humans, impact negatively in various means such as by depredation of crops, damaging grain stores, water supplies, houses and other assets, causing injures and death of humans. Farmers in India face serious threats from pests, natural calamities and damage by animals resulting in lower yields. Traditional methods followed by farmers are not that effective and it is not feasible to hire guards to keep an eye on crops and prevent wild animals. Since safety of both human and animal is equally vital, animal detection system is very much essential in farm areas. The main aim of our project is to protect the crops from damage caused by animals as well as to divert the animal without causing any harm. In this paper, a circuit consisting of passive infrared (PIR) sensor, servo motor, audio voice recorder and playback (APR) board, speaker, solar panel, battery, global system for mobile communication (GSM) and raspberry pi, pi camera is proposed. When the animal enters into the farm area, the PIR sensor detect the presence of an animal and send an input signal to the Raspberry pi. Then raspberry pi will turn on the camera and then pi camera will capture the image. And the message will be sent to the farmer. Based on the received image farmer will be able to operate the APR board through his mobile. The APR board will be on and a horrifying sound is played to divert the animal.

Key Words

Astable multi vibrator with 555 delay timer, Solar panel, Push pull amplifier, PCB, Thermal relay, raspberry pi, pi camera, PIR sensor, servo motor, APR board.
