Title

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON FIBRE REINFORCED COMPOSITE SLAB THROUGH STATIC LOADING

Abstract

Abstract : The effect of earthquake in the design and construction of a structure has assumed great significance. From every past earthquake it is clearly evident that they will bring greater damage to all structures and eventually lead to its collapse. So it is very important to clearly understand the seismic behavior of the structure to have a effective design and construction. The unpredictable nature of seismic forces like the seismic load, the probability of occurrence etc makes it more difficult. In this regard, the main aim of this study is to use the polymer matrix composites in the earthquake prone zones to enhance the stability to the structures. As an application if an element (slab) resists earthquake loads then these polymer matrix composites can be used as helipads in the regions. In emergency conditions, helipads can give more access than road transport and this is very much useful if the region is affected by a severe earthquake. This review presents an overview of various studies related to enhancing the structural stability of helipads. The outcome of the study is to identify the grey areas, to perform relevant research studies and to build a holistic knowledge base in the seismic stability of helipads.
