Title

Micro-structural and magnetic properties of Cu2+ substituted Ni-Zn nano ferrites prepared by sol-gel auto combustion method

Abstract

Cu substituted spinel structure Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2) samples have been synthesized using the sol-gel auto-combustion method. The prepared materials are characterized by XRD, FT-IR, and Magnetic measurements. X-ray diffraction spectra show cubic spinel structure, and the lattice constant decreases linearly with increasing Cu content. The crystallite sizes are in the range of 51–100 nm. The wavenumbers of tetrahedral and octahedral sites show an agnate trend in FTIR spectra. A significant impact of cation distribution was observed on magnetic properties like saturation magnetization and coercivity.
