Title

A MODERN ANALYSIS OF THE POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT OF TRIBAL COMMUNITIES

Authors

Abstract

Tribal tribes' political participation in India is a complicated and multidimensional phenomena that includes a range of elements, such as grassroots action, electoral representation, and policymaking involvement. In addition to examining the potential and difficulties experienced by tribal communities in the Indian political system, this study offers a summary of the major variables affecting tribal political engagement. Given the varied cultural, social, and economic origins of different communities, tribal members' political engagement is essential to the inclusive and democratic operation of the Indian democracy. This study examines the historical background and development of tribal political engagement in India using case studies, empirical data, and current literature. The study looks into how tribal political liberation is affected by constitutional provisions including Panchayati Raj institutions, Scheduled Tribes (ST) reservations, and other affirmative action measures. investigates how much these procedures have helped or hurt tribe members' ability to effectively participate in local, state, and federal decision-making processes. Additionally, the study investigates the socioeconomic determinants of tribal political engagement, such as social awareness, economic development, and education. It also acknowledges how cultural values, community cohesion, and traditional tribal leadership systems influence patterns of political engagement. The abstract draws attention to the difficulties tribal populations encounter in obtaining political participation, including problems with marginalisation, displacement, and land rights. It also clarifies the many functions that advocacy groups and civil society organisations play in elevating tribal voices and resolving issues in the political arena. Policymakers, researchers, and activists who are trying to increase the political empowerment of tribal groups can use the research findings to gain a more comprehensive understanding of tribal political engagement in India. The study's ultimate goal is to advance a more just and inclusive political environment that takes into account the many demands and ambitions of India's tribal people.
