Around 66.10 million out of 140 million hectares of agricultural land in India are under irrigation. Water crisis becomes a serious issue these days and government has been programming various strategies to overcome water scarcity especially in the farming sector. To promote an upgrade level of irrigation, this paper propose an intelligent irrigation system using the innovative concepts of IoT. IoT is defined to be a network which is capable of collecting and sharing digital information from and to various embedded physical modules. Everything that is connected via internet can be operated and monitored from anywhere at any time. This paper consists of the physical components such as a microcontroller implanted with soil moisture and temperature sensors to evaluate the humidity and the air temperature in and around the field. According to this information gathered, the motor can automatically pump sufficient amount of water to the fields. Thus, this paper replaces the manually irrigation techniques to a high tech level. To have a better understanding of the working status of the system, a visualization chart can be generated through the R Analysis software.
