This is a study of the crude Biosurfactant produced by a PS-7 isolate from oil spilled areas of automobile workshop near Guntur. This isolate was then grown in sabouraud broth medium for extracellular Biosurfactant production and was evaluated by measuring Emulsion index(EI). Further quantification of sophrolipid Biosurfactant was done by Thin layer chromatography. It was concluded that fungal isolate PS-7 has potential as source of new compounds against pathogenic microorganisms in human beings.
