Title

Corporate Culture – Transformation of Business Thinking

Authors

Abstract

Abstract : Transformation of the corporate culture for creating values is very important for simultaneous growth of business as well as to serve the cause of the society and the nation. Gone are the days for optimizing short-term financial gains at the cost of the society. In the present era the companies cannot overlook the well being of their customers, the depletion of natural resources vital to their business, or the economic distress of the communities in which they produce and sell. Business must reconnect company success with social progress. It is imperative on the companies to take the lead in bringing business and society back together. They should, therefore, identify core values which they will never like to compromise. In general some universal core values include integrity, truthfulness, equity, patriotism, justice etc. Companies around the world have adopted formal statements of corporate values and senior executives now routinely identify ethical behavior, honesty, integrity, and social concerns as top issues on their companies’ agendas. The principle of shared values involves creating economic value in a way that also creates values for society by addressing its need and challenges. This is a new way to achieve economic success for the company while simultaneously advancing the economic and social conditions in the communities in which it operates. Shared value creation focuses on identifying and expanding the connections between societal and economic progress. It is not on the margin of what companies do but at the centre. We believe that it can give rise to the next major transformation of business thinking.
