English Literature comprises various genres in it, but the only genre which attracts all age group readers is Children literature. Entertaining and educating are two main motifs of children literature. This study focuses on bringing out the hidden meanings of the Children’s literary text through the concept of re-reading. A work of art always has multidimensional views, according to the author, but according to the reader it varies. There is a common thought among the readers that children’s literature is only to teach moral lessons to the children, but the fact is, it has a hidden meaning in it. This paper deals with the study of Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood and the impact of industrialization in it. This paper depicts how children’s literature creates social awareness among the readers rather entertain them.
