Cansjera Rheedii leaves has shown excellent inhibition effect on Mild Steel in Natural Sea Water environment. The inhibition efficiency increased with the increase of inhibitor concentration and attain, maximum of 96%. This is due to the adsorption of active inhibitor molecules such as oxygen, hetero atom present in the phytochemical constituent may bind with the metal atom, present on the surface. However, the inhibition efficiency gradually decreased with the rise in temperature and suggests the physisorption process. The various thermodynamic parameters viz activation energy (Ea), enthalpy of adsorption (ΔHads) and free energy changes (ΔGads) indicates that the adsorption of inhibitor on metal surface follows physisorption, endothermic and spontaneous process respectively. The inhibitor is found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherms. The morphological studies may confirmed by SEM images. The corrosion products formed on the metal surface also characterised by FT-IR, and EDX spectroscopy.
