Induced mutagenesis with Ethyl Methyl Sulphonate (EMS) and Gamma rays (Kr) was attempted in Gloriosa superba. L . Tubers of glory lily were collected from six different locations; four from Tamilnadu under three agro climatic zones and two from Andhra Pradesh at south zone viz., Arupukotai, Chittor, Dharapuram, Nellore, Mulanur, and Vedaranyam .The experiment was conducted at Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University. In mutagenic treatment of glory lily in VM1 generation showed the decreased biometrical characters in Dharapuram, Nellore and Vedaranyam. The maximum increase in plant height, days to fifty percent flowering, and all yield attributing characters was noticed in chemical treatments in Mulanur followed by Chittor and Arupukotai than the control. It was carried out to forward in VM2 generation to study in three genotypes viz., Arupukotai, Chittor and Mulanur. An increase in number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, fresh seed yield and dry seed yield per plant was noticed in chemical treatments for two genotypes Arupukotai and Chittor was recorded in VM2 generation than the control. An increased length of the tuber over control was noticed among the chemical treatments in same genotypes, where as the increase in tuber weight over control was noticed in all three genotypes in VM2 generation.
