Title

Kinetic & Thermodynamic Studies of Adsorption Behaviour of Cd2+ on Bio-sorbent Prepared From Seeds of Casuarinas Equisetifolia.

Abstract

The present research work set up to evaluate the ability of heavy metal ions adsorption against bio-sorbent prepared from seeds of casuarinas equiselifolia. The outcome of progression factors like amount of adsorbent, time of contact, pH, initial concentration & temperature on heavy metal ion Cd2+ were premeditated on the feat of heavy metal ion elimination. Biosorbent was differentiated by using techniques like FTIR, SEM. Lagergren pseudo-1st -order equation illustrates excellent applicability with elevated connection coefficients for every variety of initial heavy metal ion concentration at altered temperatures. To express the kinetics of heavy metal ion adsorption process this equation is used. The constant of adsorption were assessed with the help of 2 types of isotherms i.e. Freundlich & Langmuir model of adsorption isotherm. Parameters of thermodynamic study were also achieved. It was initiate that Cd2+ adsorption of over bio-sorbent prepared form casuarinas equisetifolia was found spontaneous process & endothermic at the applied temperatures. Dynamic process of adsorption research work illustrate that the reaction of adsorption was fit characterized by the pseudo-2nd -order by means of intra particle diffusion which is pace restrictive stage. The thermodynamic study also exposed that process of adsorption of Cd2+ was reasonable, impulsive (Spontaneous) with exothermic nature. Outcomes point out that the created bio-sorbent was publicized to be a capable bio-sorbent for the elimination of aqueous solution of heavy metal.
