Title

ARSENIC CONTAMINATION IN GROUND WATER

Abstract

This study was carried out to estimate the Ground water quality in Dongaghat and pangri villges of Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh state. The analysis shows a concentration of the toxic metal Arsenic, Ground water samples collected from Bore wells of said villages and analyzed for arsenic concentration. In this analysis, we observed Higher arsenic concentrations than Drinking water standard IS:10500;2012, this might be due to associated with sedimentary deposits derived from volcanic rocks, hence mineral leaching appears to be the source of arsenic contamination. Higher levels of arsenic in the Villages have been found to cause impacts on the People who consumes that water.
