With increase in fuel prices and demand for lightweight materials in manufacturing of HMV chassis is high, the current research envisaged the application of metal matric composites (MMC’s) in the manufacturing of chassis structures. The CAD model of chassis is modeled in ANSYS design modeler using dimensions of Tata 1612 vehicle and analyzed by finite element method using ANSYS simulation module. Deformation and equivalent stresses are generated from FEA analysis and chassis with MMC material has shown better results and also considerable reduction in weight also.
