The quality of aquatic habitat determines the rate of oviposition, survival and development of immature stages of the mosquitoes, besides affecting the mosquito density and abundance. Therefore physicochemical properties of various breeding sites of Culex (Oculeomyia) bitaeniorhynchus in Baddi and its surrounding areas have been studied during 2017-18. The larvae and pupae of the above said mosquito species were collected from the village ponds, river edge, marshy places, ditches, bridges, rainwater puddles etc. The water samples collected during larval collections were analyzed for the physico-chemical parameters like temperature, Ph, conductivity, salinity, Total dissolved solids and Turbidity. The larval density was calculated for each of the breeding site in different months.
