Title

A study to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding anti-retroviral therapy in children among B.Sc nursing students at college of nursing, Adesh University Bathinda.

Abstract

Abstract: The existing study become performed to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding anti-retroviral therapy in children among B.Sc nursing students at college of nursing, Adesh University Bathinda. Objectives: to assess the knowledge of B.Sc nursing students regarding anti-retroviral therapy in children by pre-test score. -to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme regarding anti-retroviral therapy in children among B.Sc nursing students. - to find out the association between post-test knowledge score of B.Sc nursing students with their selected socio-demographic variables regarding anti-retroviral therapy in children. Methodology- Pre-experimental research design style, among 40 B.Sc third Year students by using non-probability convenience sampling technique and therefore the information was collected by using structured knowledge questionnaire on anti-retroviral therapy. Results discovered that Out of 40, majority of the subjects in post-test 31(77.5%) had moderately inadequate knowledge, 6 (15%) had inadequate knowledge and 3 (7.5%) of B.Sc nursing students had adequate knowledge regarding anti-retroviral therapy in children. Maximum mean pre-test and post-test knowledge score were 7.73±2.083 and 12.57±3.358. The‘t’ value for the degree of freedom 39 is 8.382(CV) at 0.05 level of significance and showed the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on anti-retroviral therapy. Conclusion- The B.Sc (N) 3rd Year students knowledge regarding anti-retroviral therapy is moderately adequate. Therefore, a lot of interventions ought to be planned to reinforce their information.
