This research is mainly focused on the relationship between earnings and dividend behaviour of the Indian companies. The profitability ratios, dividend payout, and retention ratios from 2007-08 to 2016-17 have been taken for analysis.10 companies from IT sector have been taken for analysis. The hypothesis has been developed based on the review of literature. The OLS model has used to check the relationship between the earnings and dividend behaviour of the selected companies. The t statistics has used to check the pre and post dividend behaviour of selected companies in Indian industries. The findings and suggestion of this research would be useful for investors, corporate people for their investment decisions.
