This paper makes an endeavor to research and examine the performance of SHGs in enabling poor women by methods for giving microfinance just as to underline the issues and impression of women small scale business visionaries who have framed groups to shape their very own fortune. Field study was conducted across the districts of Malda, West Bengal, during the period of April 2018 to December 2018 and all data used in this study relates to this period only. The findings show that the real concept of microfinance is quite blurry and unclear to the women micro entrepreneurs covered under our study and hence it had failed to spread its root deep into the rural economic and social system.
