Title

DEVELOPMENT OF ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE USING SILICA FUME, NANO SILICA, GROUND GRANULATED BLAST FURNACE SLAG AND FLY ASH

Abstract

Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) refers to the materials with a cement matrix and a characteristic compressive strength in excess of 150 MPa. The aim is to develop the ultra-high performance concrete that can provide enhanced mechanical properties of concrete. In this study, the compressive strength and split tensile strength of UHPC concrete mixtures for different percentage of replacement of cement with silica fume, nano silica and slag are reported. It is found out that the maximum increase in compressive strength and split tensile strength is for concrete mix in which 10% silica fume, 2% nano silica, 20% slag is replaced with cement and 20% fly ash is constant.
