Title

IOT Based Insect Detection and Protection of Crop using Raspberry pi

Abstract

The model of the solar light trap, IOT based insect detection, and protection of the crap for the monitoring of insect pests and their mechanical control in the field of agriculture is proposed. The primary objective is an insect reduction and protection of crop from animals and birds rather than targeting a pesticide use in the farm, the proposed system approach can implement to reduce the manual efforts and financial investment in the farm. An approach provides the design and testing of the IOT based insect trap model using a solar panel and Raspberry Pi offers alternative low complexity designs.IOT is an efficient way to reduce the manpower, controlling and monitoring the current situation from any place. Initially, the model of light trap box with metal structure is developed, then a solar light system including solar panel, charging unit, battery and LED bulb installed with the light trap box so that this solar light trap can monitor and control the insect pests of different crops effectively. The Proposed model is more effective than the existing one. It has low-cost involvement so it can be utilized by most of the farmers. Experimental results have shown the efficiency of the proposed technique.
