Title

Sepic Converter As LED Driver

Abstract

LEDs finds wide range of industrial and domestic applications. The Single Ended Primary Inductor Converter (SEPIC) is a DC-DC converter and has the advantage of in-phase voltage and current output across the load. The Sepic with the help of powerful digital control techniques, is used to achieve low harmonic input current. Nowadays, DC-DC converter are widely used in industrial applications and renewable energy systems. A Sepic converter is capable of operating in either step-up or step-down mode and commonly used in battery charger system. This paper presents the modeling and analyzing of the Sepic with coupled Inductors. The modified-Sepic converter in its universal range of 90V-270V for a load of 15W gives desired output as per intended. The Sepic converter allows a range of DC voltage to be adjusted to maintain a constant output voltage. This project talks about the importance of DC-DC converters and why Sepic converters are used instead of other DC-DC converters. The purpose of this paper is to design and optimize a Sepic DC-DC converter.
