Title

Offense Pattern Analysis based on Crimes in India

Abstract

Crime rates in India keep rising every day. Law enforcement agencies require number of forces to keep an eye on any signs of criminal activity. When the crime cases increases, huge amount of data has to be analyzed which results in increase in analysis time. Moreover humanoid mistakes are certain to occur. Crime analysis and prevention is a systematic approach for identifying and analyzing patterns observed in various crimes. With the improvement of technology each passing day, properly analyzed crime data can help the responsible officers to speed up the process of mitigating the crimes. Using the concept of data mining we can extract previously unknown, useful information from an unstructured or raw data that may prove to be helpful. We are running the exploratory data analysis over the gathered crime data so as to get as much insights from it and reporting the same. Moreover we are collecting socio-economic factors such as population, literacy rate, employment rate, sex-ratio, age-ratio, etc. and finding correlation with crime data. We are also correlating the crimes to find the relationships between them. This helps us to know which factors may increase or reduce the crime rate. Lastly for visualizations, we shall be creating an analytical dashboard for appropriate end users.
