Title

Design and Characterization of PANI Thin Film Polymerization

Abstract

Plasma polymerization is a process of synthesis thin polymeric film in a low-pressure electrical discharge. In the last decade inventions and modification of new polymers have acquired more focus, which is due to the spectacular properties of conducting polymers and their wide use in numerous applications. Insoluble, pinhole-free and cross- linked thin polymeric films have been prepared from a large number of organic monomers without any catalyst. To study some important electrical, optical and structural properties, thin films of polyprrole and polyaniline doped with ( BF4) -1 are prepared. Polypyrrole and Polyaniline thin films were prepared by electrochemical oxidation polymerization of pyrrole and aniline. The variation of electrical conductivity with temperature will be investigated and likely to indicate the semiconducting nature of these films with two activation energies in the experimental temperature range. The Density Functional Theory (DFT) based on Becke-3-Lee-Yang-Parr (B3LYP) level will also be used to compute the electronic spectrum frequencies for monomers and dimers of aniline and pyrrole. The thin film prepared will be characterizes through many techniques and results obtained will be properly explained test suitability of such films
