Abstract: In the last decade, CSR emerged significantly. Over the time CSR is expanded in the context of both social and economic benefits. Due to pressure from various stakeholders, companies have become more transparent in accounting and public reporting. It is essential for companies to be ethical and responsible towards consumers, employees, stakeholders, society, and environment. They have started CSR initiatives to incorporate in their annual reports. According to companies Act it is mandatory to spend 2% of its profit because of which companies are expanding on CSR aspects. This paper focuses on the concept of CSR and impact of CSR on financial performance of firm along with its positive, neutral and negative impact of CSR.
