Title

LEADERSHIP EFFECTIVENESS AND COMMITMENT AMONG TEACHERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

Higher education play an important role in education sector, and the teachers are the key factor for effective learning process. Developing leaders and leadership are key factors to improve teaching and learning in higher education. Quality in higher education is being assessed throughout the world and it was noticed that prominent education institutes aspire to bring leadership effectiveness and commitment among teachers to make sure the quality education should be delivered to the students. Despite the abundance of literature related to developing formal leadership. Some studies have been conducted with academics in non-formal leadership roles focusing on how they develop their leadership in learning and teaching. This paper contributes to possible new strategies to facilitate cultural change in higher education institutions. Sharing academics to effectively lead teaching teams and promote quality learning experiences for students and to advise colleagues in learning and teaching. For this research a survey has been conducted among 50 teachers of higher education to examine the need of leadership effectiveness and commitment among teachers in higher education, study of higher education and its role in current scenario.
