Economic Development determines the health of a country as this is evident from development in Infrastructure, Education, Industries, Healthcare, standard of living of the people, etc. Industries are one of the main sectors that promote economic development. Vital factors ensuring economic development are industries which provide employment and increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of a country or state. This study attempts to analyze the role of secondary sector in the economic development by measuring the levels of income, output and employment in the state of Karnataka. The study used secondary data which is analyzed using Regression test and it was found that the secondary sector played a huge role in the economic development as income and employment in Karnataka had considerably increased over the years. However, better measures could be implemented to avoid jobless growth and declining production in the state.
