Abstract
Abstract: Festivals are a greater opportunity for retailers to increase the business. A proper understanding of consumer behaviour will help them to focus more on them and thereby satisfy them. The gender of the shopper plays an important role in the purchase of garments especially during festivals. This study aims to understand the association between gender of the shopper and the primary reasons stated by them for buying apparels during festive seasons. The area chosen for the study is Coimbatore City.
