DIGITAL DIVIDE AND GENERATION GAP (A Survey based study in Jalandhar)

Abstract

“This digital world is what you make of it in the end”- Ciara What is digital? Digital refers to as electronic technology that generates, store and processes data. Data is divided into two states: positive and non-positive. Positive represented by the number 1 and non-positive expressed by the number 0. Thus, data transmitted or stored with digital technology is expressed as a string of 0’s and 1’s. “ The proper artistic response to digital technology is to embrace it as a new window on everything that’s eternally human, and to use it with passion, wisdom, fearlessness and joy”- Ralph Lombreglia What is digital technology? Digital technologies are electronic tools, systems, devices and resources that generate, store or process data. The difference between analogue and digital technology is that in analogue technology, data is converted into electric rhythms of multiple amplitudes, while in digital technology; information is converted into the binary system, i.e. zero or one, where every bit is the symbol of two amplitudes. The importance of digital technology in marketing is that you can simply record and analyze the execution and results of your campaigns. This is because when digital marketers spend their time and money in making effective campaigns, they want to see the successful outcomes of those campaigns. It makes it simple for them to record their campaigns, which enables them to become accustomed and determines improved outcomes.
