Title

Status of Changing Cropping Pattern in Haryana

Abstract

The percentage of a region that is planted with various crops at any given time is known as the cropping pattern. The past of Indian agriculture attests to the fact that the country's new agricultural setup has altered both Haryana's and India's conventional overall cropping patterns. In Haryana agriculture, numerous changes have been implemented, including the green revolution, minimal support prices, and new economic reforms. The overall cropping pattern in Haryana has been significantly impacted by all of these changes. Our focus in the current research is on examining the farming patterns in Haryana. As we focus on cropping pattern in this research, it provides the answers to many queries regarding the Haryana's cropping patterns. The research will explain the current cropping pattern in Haryana as well as any variations between the years 1966–1969, 1990–1993 and 2009–2012. With the aid of this research, we can identify the various adjustments or regulating elements that will aid in enhancing the farming pattern in Haryana. The research would provide a response to questions like: How have environmental variables affected cropping patterns and decision-making? How is it that during this time period, Southern and Western Haryana have continued to retain their strong position in terms of cotton production while the total area planted in wheat and rice is constantly growing while the area sown in gram, sugarcane, and barley has been continuously decreasing?
