Title

Banking Finance and Performance of the Rural Women Entrepreneurs in Kanniyakumari District – An Economic Study

Abstract

The rural women entrepreneurs face many problems such as lack of fund mobility especially accessibility and affordability of banking finance from nationalised banks, private banks and co-operative banks. Private banks provide fund to business with highest interest rate. Nationalised banks and co-operative banks provide less amount of loan to the entrepreneurs with lower interest rate but with lot of documental process. This study mainly focuses on the impact of banking finance on the performance of the rural women entrepreneurs in Kanniyakumari district, with the main objective of accessing impact of interest payment on the performance of the rural women entrepreneurs. a total of 512 rural women entrepreneurs were found of them, 50 sample rural women entrepreneurs are collected on the basis of systematic sampling techniques. In the study, the researcher has used many statistical tools such as one-way ANOVA, multiple regression and generalized linear model. This study has revealed that savings and less amount of interest payment boost the rural women entrepreneurs and it increase the profit and increase the amount of investment. So, the rural women entrepreneurs should increase their savings and the nationalised banks should provide loan without delaying document processing and private banks should be reduce the rate of interest for the entrepreneurs. Then, the rural women entrepreneurs will increase and it leads towards growth of the society and states as well as the nation.
