There are an ample number of technical analysis tools in retracing asset prices. Among them the tools based on Fibonacci recurrences are assumed to be relatively more scientific. In fact, the terms of the Fibonacci sequence were found in nature and the golden ratio is extensively used in the beautification of monuments and architects. In this paper, we review some of the popular technical analysis methodologies based on Fibonacci sequences and also define a generalized Fibonacci type sequence using the secant method, regula-falsi method and some mathematical function associated with fundamental analysis of a given stock. The technical analysis based on this new type of sequence may be useful in some specific trading systems.
