Government of India owes more than 200 companies in various fields. These Companies are either owned by state Government or Central Government and are called PSUs. Since all the companies that are lying under Public service union and PSUs are different with each other in terms of Financial Strength, Turnover, Growth Rate, and Contribution to Nation and LOB. So Government created Maharatna Category in 2009 to empower these PSUs with greater financial sovereignty which enables them to expand their operations even on a global work of art. Different Categories are as under:- 1. Mahartna Company 2. Navaratna Company 3. Miniratna Company This paper shows Ratio Analysis of Five Maharatna Companies with Top Private Companies in their respective fields from financial year ending 2012-13 till Financial year 2017-18.
