Transportation plays a vital role in the growth of a country’s Economy. In India, compare to other modes of transportation, around 60% of goods are transported by roads. There is increase in commercial vehicles leads to increase in the movement of goods. In this fastest network of transporting, the problem of overloading and loss of goods is a major issue faced by the common people. Overloading in vehicles would increase wear and tear of braking components, increase the effort of engine, increase of fuel consumption and increase the death rate. This paper reviews the research work carried on the field of overloading detection and tracking in the vehicles and a suitable solution has been suggested to overcome the conventional loading problems and loss of goods during transportation.
