In Engineering program run by a number of universities, final year students are required to make working projects on various domains and write a report for the same. It is observed that the students have a negligible attention towards the development of the project turning it into a failure within the defined time period. Current practice need supervisors to keep a record of documents and the progress of the project. As no lack of certainty, the manual process proposes a well detailed schedule, it lacks in monitoring the working of the activities for the completion of project to make sure it finishes within the deadlines. The manual process tends to be tedious as well as time consuming. To improve project tracking a web based project automation system has been designed and developed. The system consists of modules for three types of users: admin, project guide and the students. Each having an equal access to their respective activities.
