Title

ADDICTION OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL IN NAGALAND

Abstract

Nagaland is among the 7 sisters of the northeast India. The increasing growth of drug and alcohol in the state has become serious threat to the nagas .it is has become such an important issue that cannot it be ignored and both male and female contribute to severe disturbance for society. Its main target is youth that has gone so far as maximum number like half of the population is of youth. It led to encounter legal problems as it increase a person’s likelihood of getting into a fight, displaying disorderly conduct in public, becoming involved in domestic disputes or violence. It even have a very bad impact within a family, destroys marriage. Family therapy and rehab might do some trick. If not taken care it results in neglect of responsibilities associated with work, home life and school etc. Alcohol is an addictive substance a8nd can lead to physical dependence.Althrough a person who is physically dependent is not necessarily addicted but ongoing drinking is slippery slope that can lead addiction. The cause of this addiction can lead to certain disorders, causing premature death specially injuring drug user have high chances of disease like HIV/AIDS it even has devastating effects on the veins skin, muscles and joints of the body. Even health problems like kidney failure, liver, TB, Hepatitis B are value to alcohol and drug. Not only these deadly disease but there is also the need for those addicted victims from all over the district need for rehabilitation centers across Nagaland. Another concern is expenditure and expenses that a person have to pay a huge amount of money for payment of admission into rehabilitation centers itself drains the clients as the drug drain their bodies. As those from middle class family would have a hard to financially support for admitting in such centers.
