The human behavior over the last few decades has changed the global atmospheric condition. The emission from automobiles, industrial emission, urban development, intensification of agricultural practices and RMC plant has escalate the levels of the harmful gases like CO2, CO, SO2, NO and Particulate Matter(PM) which probably changing the condition of the atmosphere and in turn harming us. Concrete is one of the main building materials used in current construction activities around the world; therefore, many issues pertaining to concrete long term sustainability arise. This makes issues related to environmental evaluation and assessment for the ready-mix concrete production process of vital importance. The release of particulate matter (PM) including PM10 and TSP could be considered the main air pollutant that is emitted from this industrial sector; where PM can be released from different stages of ready-mix concrete production process. The study aims at assessing the rate of air pollution in Lucknow with the focus on the Particulate Matter 10, Total suspended particulate matter TSP, Sulphur Dioxide and Nitrogen Dioxide. The study also reveals the major cause of the air pollution in RMC plants at Lucknow.
