Title

An Empirical Assessment on the Health-related Quality of Life Improvement of Backward Caste Participants of Micro Enterprises in West Burdwan, West Bengal

Abstract

Micro Enterprises (MEs) with their socio-economic promotional efforts in different modes can firmly be regarded as the most vibrant sector in any developing country like India. Due to their easy access and affordability, the backward community of our society, not adequately equipped to get entered into any corporate level, approaches to participate in MEs to improve their Quality of Life (QoL) in different dimensions specially in heath related ones where overall conditions in living would be considered. Therefore, question may appear on the role of MEs in improving the Health-related Quality of Life (HRQoL) of the respective participants (employers and employees) of their units where the degree of improvement of the factors of HRQoL would be dependent on the perception of the respective individuals. Considering this in view, the present study takes its attempt to judge significant difference in response patterns between different groups of demographic dimensions of the respective participants and also to investigate the association between different demographic characteristics and different factors under HRQoL To satisfy the objectives, an intensive investigation was dealt with in West Burdwan, West Bengal (selected purposively), supposed to be an industrially developed district of the state. As per the perceptions of the randomly selected participants of MEs of West Burdwan, the demographic dimensions of the respective participants would find significant impact on the improvement of the factors of HRQoL.
