Title

Fuzzy Logic Model for evaluating student performance in Engineering Mathematics at Parul University

Abstract

In the field of engineering, mathematics plays vital role, till four semesters Mathematics is as one of the subject in every field of engineering. So, evaluation of mathematics amongst the engineering students is imperative. In this study our goal is to evaluate student’s performance in Engineering Mathematics by using Fuzzy Logic. This method is different from the usual method of evaluation. The authors have considered five inputs. The inputs involve marks obtained in weekly exam, Mid semester exam, Attendance, assignment and End semester Exam. Using Mamdani technique which is an integral part of MATLAB R2015a which will analyse our inputs by using a fuzzy logic approach to evaluate student’s performance.
