The purpose to write this review article is to analyse the biological activities of Copper and Zinc metal complexes. Copper and Zinc metal complexes play an essential role in development of new metal based drugs. The data has drawn from randomly selected research papers which have been published in last few years. In this article, we have discussed about Cu (II) and Zn (II) metal ions which form complexes with various ligands such as heterocyclic ligands, Schiff base ligands and terpinoids etc. and their biological importance. In this article, we took applications of metal complexes in the area of antifungal, antitumor, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial activities.
