Title

ION TRANSPORT AND IN-VITRO BIOLOGICAL STUDIES OF BaMoO4 INORGANIC PRECIPITATED SYNTHETIC MEMBRANE

Abstract

The study of membrane potential across parchment supported inorganic precipitated barium molybdate membrane has been investigated by using various 1:1 electrolytes with different concentration. The parchment supported BaMoO4 membrane has been fabricated by the ion-interaction method and using 0.2M BaCl2 and Na2MoO4 solutions. The Teorell-Meyer and Seviers method is used to obtain the several important electrochemical parameters of membrane like fixed charge density, transport number, mobility ratio, charge effectiveness, etc. The synthetic membrane has been characterized by various instrumental techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Fourier Transform infrared, Thermogravimetric Analysis/Differential thermal analysis, X-Ray Diffraction and Energy dispersive X-ray analysis. The biological activity of newly fabricated membrane was also studied against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus by the well agar plate diffusion method.
