Title

Anti-Theft Car Security System

Abstract

Transportation plays a big part of our daily lives and in this modern and insecure world it becomes very necessary to be aware of one’s security. There are increasing number of car thefts and through this system we can prevent such crimes. So we have developed a system that prevents vehicle theft, which remotely controls vehicle anti-theft system via GSM network to produce a dependable and efficient vehicle security system. Thus, this project is based on building an Anti-Theft Car System using Raspberry Pi. The design project can be viewed from two perspectives viz the hardware consideration and the software consideration where in the hardware consists of GSM 900A, Webcam, OBD port, Node MCU, Raspberry Pi and the software consists of, Raspbian, Firebase, Arduino IDE, PICOCOM and PuTTY. This system is designed not just to alarm the surroundings but to alert the owner through message, tracking the car, locking the car remotely with or without the owners consent according to the stealing parameters. The communication between user and the vehicle sub-system is via SMS (Short Messaging Service) messaging. SMS commands are sent to the GSM/GPRS Modem Module. The GSM/GPRS interprets the message and performs necessary control actions. Also, SMS messages are sent from the GSM/GPRS Modem Module to the users mobile phone whenever an alarm situation occurs. The user can also directly contact the police officials about the events with coordinates of the location of the car getting stolen and can shut down the engine remotely. A mobile application is also developed which can be used to intimate the owner of the vehicle with the status of his car. The existing technologies for car security systems have a number of limitations such as high false alarm rate, easy deactivation and high cost.Thus Anti-Theft Car Security System provides the necessary security and a platform where the owner of the vehicle can ensure the safety of his/her vehicle.
