In traditional or standard concrete, due to the drying shrinkage and reason as other volumetric changes, micro-cracks tend to start developing when or before the structure is put under loading. Elastic deformation is occurred due to the reason of cracks spreading and opening up which also results in elastic bending. Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is prepared by mixing randomly distributed small steel fibers in cement-concrete. These steel fibers are mainly used to transfer the load to the internal micro-cracks. SFRC tends to have astounding engineering properties like compressive strength, tensile strength, impact confrontation, and excellent permeability and due to this reason; it has started being successfully used in the construction sector and industry. It is a very effective way to increase the overall life span of concrete, the shock resistance, and the resistance to cracking of the mortar. This paper gives an experimental investigation on the applications of Steel Fibers on concrete with the testing and results.
