Abstract
Importance of diet in curing the diabetes is well documented. Diabetes can be of type 1 which is characterized by the lack of insulin or type 2 diabetes in which insulin resistance is there. Diabetes has been associated with various complications which eventually lead to dependency on various medications. In this study we developed a method of drug tapering achieved through plant based diet. Not only diabetic medication and insulin requirement were reduced but blood pressure medication was also reduced for many of the patients.
