STABILITY TESTING OF GALLIC ACID FROM CHEWABLE TABLETS OF POMEGRANATE PEEL EXTRACT BY USING HPTLC METHOD
Abstract
Pomegranate fruit has many nutritional values and it is easily available in market. Even the peels are known to contain many medicinal active ingredients so, the pomegranate peels which we generally throw as a waste material were extracted.The HPTLC method was developed to estimate content of gallic acid from pomegranate peel powder extract. HPTLC separation was carried out on Merck TLC aluminium sheets precoated with silica gel 60F254 using Toluene: Ethyl acetate: Formic acid(4: 8: 1.5 v/v/v) as mobile phase. Quantitative analysis was carried out in the absorbance mode at 273 nm
