This study attempts to synthesise various studies on Financial Literacy which have been carried out all over the globe. The paper includes analysis of various researches conducted in India as well as in the rest of the world and its effects on the financial behavior of the investors in various countries. The study attempts to identify the significance of financial literacy for people who make financial decisions and those who do not. The present global economic crises have focused on the requirement of high awareness of financial knowledge awareness and financial education, so that investors can take less risk prone financial decisions. This study has been concluded with the outcomes of various studies and surveys conducted at national and international level on financial literacy and investor’s behavior.
