The performance of structures especially of buildings during an earthquake is a matter of great concern, both in terms of structural damage and public safety. Tube in tube structures is particularly suitable for all tall buildings. According to the past studies, as the height of the structure increases horizontal loads play an important role. In order to know the best geometric configuration of tube-in-tube frame system, a 50 story building with different geometric configurations like hexagonal, rectangular, square and triangular models were developed and compared in ETABs software. In the ETABS software, a 3D finite element model is built and analyzed for linear static, non-linear (P-Delta) and linear dynamic cases. The results from the analysis show that the square tube in tube is feasible and has relatively less displacement, story drift and higher eigenvalues.
