The rapid changes in Banking sector towards facilitating the digital economy is a driving force challenging the industry credentials and employees are the key facilitators for change. Though digitalizing all of its key process results in cost and time saving the diversity of internal and external customer base handling is a competency issue. The employees working in bank face intense challenges on the daily basis. The stress level involved, the level of accuracy and detailing required by bank employees are relatively high in comparison with other sectors. The Diversity Handling Competency is the need of the hour for survival in the globally competitive environment. The present paper focuses on the Diversity Handling Competency (DHC) in major Indian public sector banks. The sample size selected for the study is 200 employees in total from State Bank of India (SBI) and Canara Bank. The results obtained from the statistical tests demonstrate a level of significance in the study.
