Title

The Role Of Free Imagination To Create Scientific Knowledge: A Philosophical Journey From Science Fiction To Real Science

Abstract

Abstract: Science Fiction or Sci-Fi is the most thought provoking one which has high command over fantasy in the field of literature. Sci-Fi stories have had a special position in actual science and dealing with imaginative concepts such as innovative science and technology, space travel, parallel universes and extraterrestrial life etc. where most of them may have the capability to become as real science or at least shake our thinking pattern to think about and work out to make it real one in coming future. In this way speculative philosophy helps to develop the theory or hypothesis like Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, Big Bang nucleosynthesis (or primordial nucleosynthesis), or Freud’s Theory of Consciousness etc. In Big Bang theory the primordial atoms are believed to be responsible for the formation of the universe and from the primordial atoms the Space first created and started to become as expanding Universe. Time also started to exist with the very beginning of Space and solves so many scientific problems in physical cosmology. Same way we can mention another important ‘convenient fiction’ i.e. Freud’s theory of Consciousness which is considered as scientific theory in the field of psychology to explain the psychological disorder and interpretation of dream. So, what is Sci-Fi or convenient fictions today may have the capacity to change the face of our known planet or may explore few planets for us! Sci-Fi stories may inspire the tender mind to think and create a fresh world by their speculative thinking and ‘convenient fiction’. Hope this philosophical journey from Sci-Fi to Real Science would be fruitful to the inhabitants of this planet in coming days as H.G. Wells imagined for a Space-scattered Colonies.
